Position Overview
Teaching Assistant at St Germans Academy, 27.5 hours per week, term time plus 1 week. Permanent position. Salary: MRS Scale D, Point 6 - Point 7. Actual salary £16,540 - £16,803 per annum. Full time equivalent salary £25,989 - £26,403.
Responsibilities
- Assist the class teacher and other teaching assistants with children’s work and play.
- Support pupil behaviour, establish good relationships with pupils and act as a role model.
- Respond to individual student needs, including supporting intimate care and playing on the floor.
- Respond promptly to escalated situations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Versatile, resilient and committed.
- Experience and skills supporting children with Special Educational Needs.
- Fluency in English.
Legal and Safety Requirements
- Must undergo an enhanced DBS check and provide satisfactory references.
- Must complete a declaration form under the Childcare (Disqualification) Regulations 2009.
- Will be subject to safeguarding screening appropriate to the post, including Disclosure & Barring Service checks and references covering the last three years.
