About the Role & Practice

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Orthopaedic and Soft Tissue Surgeon to join St George’s Vets, following our current surgeon moving on to a surgical residency. You will work alongside an experienced orthopaedic/soft tissue surgeon, managing a varied and rewarding caseload including TPLO, BOAS, TECA, large mass removals, and laparoscopic spays. Extended surgical consult times are available for more complex cases, allowing you to deliver high-quality care. St George’s is a well‑equipped GP hospital offering mid‑tier referral services to local practices.

  • In‑house CT
  • Laparoscopic surgery
  • Extensive orthopaedic and soft tissue surgical equipment (including fracture repair)
  • Endoscopy
  • Full in‑house laboratory

We are a collaborative and friendly team of 16 vets and 30 RVNs, including certificate holders and Advanced Practitioners. The practice spans nine sites and is set to relocate its main hospital to a brand‑new purpose‑built facility within the next 18 months. Overnight care for hospitalised patients is supported on‑site by Vets Now, ensuring continuous patient care outside of core hours. We can offer a 4‑day, 40‑hour working week, offering a strong work‑life balance, alongside a shared 1 in 5 Saturday rota.

St George’s Vets is based in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, with excellent transport links across the region. You’ll have easy access to Birmingham city centre, as well as direct rail connections to major cities including London and Manchester. The area offers a great mix of city living and nearby countryside, making it an ideal location whether you prefer a busy urban lifestyle or something more relaxed.
