Position: Full-time or part-time Vet Surgeon
St Georges Halesowen is looking for a Vet Surgeon to join their team. You can be based solely in our Halesowen GP practice or combined with days working at our Wolverhampton hospital site. We would be interested in speaking to Vets with an interest in Orthopaedic Surgery and we can offer training and development in this at our hospital as part of the rota (no prior experience required).
Typical Working Day: A typical working day in Halesowen would consist of 15-minute consultations with a qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse on hand at all times. There would also be up to 3 hours of routine surgery a day - neutering, lump removals, and dentals if desired. Your day would consist of morning consultations and then afternoon surgery from 2:30pm-6:30pm with an allocated break at 4:00pm. This can be flexible depending on skills and interest, for example, we can change surgery times and have more consultation time if desired.
Work/Life Balance: We offer flexible working patterns that fit in with your lifestyle. Whether you are looking to flex your rota hours to balance school holidays or navigate school runs, we can offer flexibility that actually works for you.
Typical Working Hours: The typical working hours would be from 9am to 7pm across 4 days of the week, with a 1 in 3 Saturdays from 9am to 4pm. There are no out of hours with this role.
About Us: Our Halesowen practice is well located, just 10 mins from M5, Junction 3. Easily accessible from all areas of Wolverhampton, Dudley, Birmingham, and Kidderminster. Birmingham Airport is just 40 mins drive away. We have an operating theatre, Idexx lab, ultrasound, and dental x-ray. We are also a training practice for Student Veterinary Nurses. Our hospital is fully equipped with a CT scanner, digital X-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, Idexx lab, digital microscope, endoscope, laparoscopic kit, etc. Working at the hospital would enable you to undertake more detailed medical work and surgery alongside our team of Certificate Holders/Advanced Practitioners. This allows you to also book your own cases in for your hospital day to work up with support and greater access to equipment.
Our Team: Our team has many AVP/certificate holders who are happy to offer plenty of help, support, and discussion for clinical development and activity. Certificate study is supported and development/progression to senior roles is possible.
Benefits: We recognise that our people are fundamental to the success of our business. Investing in our people, premises, and processes is at the heart of what we do. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will benefit from:
