Clinical delivery is via intensive daily therapy programmes and provision of OT assessment on the cognitive assessment programme., Wolfson Outpatient Cognitive Rehab Service (WOCRS), based at QMH provides intensive cognitive rehabilitation to patients unable to be managed safely in the community and have requirement for a high level of intensity of rehabilitation whilst not needing a hospital bed, thus supporting patient flow from the inpatient setting. The B6 OT post delivers activity into a service with clear specifications around staffing ratios, timeliness of assessment and intensity of rehabilitation and mirrors that require for inpatient neurorehabilitation. The B6 OT post is the only full time OT post in the team and plays a pivotal role in patient flow through the service by assessing for and providing therapeutic intervention for the implementation and use of cognitive strategies to support independence in everyday activities, reducing care needs on discharge and training to those identified to provide ongoing support.

Within WOCRS there is pressure to pick up new referrals which with reduced staffing could result in Iarge, unmanageable caseloads resulting in potential delay in discharge. This is likely to result in poor team morale and impact on staff retention.
