Overview

We are currently seeking to recruit a Band 6 Multidisciplinary BMS. The post is for 37.5 hours a week and involves a full 24/7 rota after a period of suitable training. The post is based at St George\’s Hospital; however, the post holder may be required to work at any of the South West London Pathology sites as needed.

Responsibilities

Full time BMS role with rotation through:

  • Biochemistry
  • Haematology
  • Blood Transfusion
  • Coagulation

Full participation in the out-of-hours (OOH) rota in all sections. The Haematology and Blood Transfusion section includes work on Coulter DxH 900 analyzers and ACL Top systems, and Immucor BT. The Biochemistry section includes an automated routine service with Beckman AU 5800 and DxI 900 analyzers. Automated haematology, coagulation, biochemistry and virology are linked by the Beckman DxA 5000 track. The Biochemistry section also has a manual/semi-automated area including mass spectrometry and osmometers, etc.

Qualifications

Applicants must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
