A Public Health Immunisation team of nurses and midwives with your administrative support, was created to achieve this public health goal. The role of the team is to enable the smooth implementation of the maternal vaccination programme within our maternity unit and to oversee Neonatal BCG referrals.

The successful applicants will possess excellent time management skills; be able to organise and proactively deal with all administrative duties and promotional work to ensure effective communication with the local primary care teams and NHS England. Any potential candidate must meet the essential criteria and be flexible within the team working patterns to meet the needs of this weekday service. A job share will be considered.

St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Tooting, South West London, is a large teaching hospital with a tertiary maternity unit providing care to over 4500 women, birthing people and babies each year. We take great pride in providing a midwifery service that delivers holistic patient-centred care to our diverse local community.

We strive to ensure a positive pregnancy and birth experience for women and birthing people with both complex and uncomplicated pregnancies, excelling both in the provision of high risk care for women and birthing people who require medical input on one hand, and a thriving homebirth team on the other, whilst continuing to promote our midwife-led birth centre.

In conjunction with NHS England, this year (2024) we continue to offer the maternal Flu and Pertussis vaccinations as well as the new RSV vaccine in pregnancy to further protect young children in their first year of life.

In addition to our well-established Trust induction and maternity orientation programme, there are many opportunities for in-service training, development of special interests, and excellent career prospects.
