Mechanical Supervisor responsible for leading maintenance teams, diagnosing complex faults, and ensuring safe, compliant operation of critical mechanical engineering systems within a healthcare environment.
Oversees planned and reactive maintenance, supports projects, manages contractors, and maintains service continuity for patients,
- Supervise and coordinate mechanical maintenance activities to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of engineering services and plant equipment.
- Diagnose complex faults and oversee repairs across a wide range of building and healthcare systems.
- Plan, prioritise, and manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, statutory testing, and minor improvement works.
- Lead and support Craftspersons, Maintenance Assistants, Building Services Assistants, Apprentices, and contractors.
- Monitor and operate Building Management Systems (BMS) to support fault diagnosis, plant performance, and energy efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, Trust policies, permit-to-work procedures, and safe systems of work.
- Coordinate maintenance activities for HVAC, medical gas systems, water services, steam plant, pressure systems, and specialist healthcare equipment.
- Provide technical advice and support for capital projects, infrastructure upgrades, and contractor-delivered works.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, technical documentation, asset information, and performance data within CAFM systems.
- Conduct risk assessments, prepare method statements and promote a strong safety culture across all maintenance activities.
- Support emergency response arrangements, service continuity planning, and out-of-hours maintenance requirements.
- Training, mentoring, and development of engineering staff and apprentices.
