We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and committed Employee Relations (ER) Manager to join our team at GESH (St George's, Epsom and St Helier Hospitals). The post holder will primarily support managers across St George's and St Helier Hospitals, providing expert advice and guidance while also contributing to the delivery of services across the wider GESH Group. This is an exciting time to join GESH, as we continue to develop and embed new and improved ways of working across the Trust. This role offers a real opportunity to make a meaningful impact, providing expert Employee Relations support and contributing to a positive, fair, and consistent approach to people management.

As ER Manager, you will work closely with the Deputy Group Head of Employee Relations and Group Head of Employee Relations to provide a specialist employee relations and resolution service to managers and staff across the group. The role will require working closely with managers and management teams to improve the standard of ER practice, ensuring that best practice is developed.

Main duties of the job:

  • The postholder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a team of Employee Relations Advisors, which will include providing support and guidance on ER matters and identifying new ways of working.
  • The role will support the development of the skills and capacity of managers to empower them to manage people issues effectively and independently.
  • The post holder will drive the delivery of an early resolution approach in the delivery of advice to managers to build confidence in dealing with complex people-management issues.
  • The post holder will be responsible for complex employee relations case work and will provide advice and support to line managers on a range of ER issues including, but not limited to, discipline, grievance management, poor performance and attendance and workplace dispute management.
  • As a senior member of the GESH Employee Relations Team, the postholder will be expected to support casework across all group sites as and when required.
