Home to Netflix's new series 'critical- between life and death'. The trauma ward is one of London's busiest centres. The Major Trauma Ward is a 22-bedded ward that cares for patients who have suffered traumatic events which are often critical/life threatening.

Providing excellent nursing care. As skills and competencies develop, taking charge and actively participating in and contributing to the management of the ward or department on a regular basis. Supervising and mentoring junior staff. Admission, discharge and ongoing daily holistic care to our T&O patients. Prioritise the needs and emergency management. Facilitate effective and safe complex T&O discharges by communicating with MDT. Work collaboratively with Trauma nurses and Orthopaedic CNS. Take charge of the shift to develop leadership skills. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Supervise the junior team and students on placement.

Provide the highest standard of evidence-based/research-informed nursing care for all patients. To plan, assess, implement and evaluate programmes of care. To supervise and support members of the ward team to ensure that all patients receive the appropriate care. To maintain a compassionate, caring and safe environment for all. To act as an advocate for the patients and their families and/or carers, providing them with information and support and directing them to the relevant support services where appropriate. To plan effective discharge from admission, liaising with the multidisciplinary team, other departments and community services as necessary.

To develop and maintain clinical skills and knowledge necessary to provide research-informed, evidence-based nursing care. This includes expanded role responsibilities, following appropriate competency-based training. To be competent and compliant in the administration of medicines in line with Trust policy.
