Oversight of the Breast Imaging Service, comprising the Breast Symptomatic Service at St George’s Hospital and the South West London Breast Screening Service across seven sites. This Band 8a Superintendent Radiographer role is part of a friendly, well‑supported team.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the delivery of the Breast Imaging Service across all sites, ensuring effective and efficient service through the highest standards of safe, kind and compassionate care.
- Manage the day‑to‑day running of a busy department and support the Service with a variety of tasks when necessary.
- Maintain and develop high quality mammography practice, including specialist knowledge of complex procedures.
- Demonstrate sound knowledge of IR(ME)R, and deliver excellent quality control and assurance.
- Engage in training, audit, and continue professional development, encouraging team members to participate.
Qualifications
- BSC (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent, with recent NHS experience ideally within an acute setting.
- Previous management experience within a radiography department.
- Experience in all aspects of mammography, including specialist complex procedures.
- Knowledge of IR(ME)R and excellent quality control and assurance.
- Dynamic, highly self‑motivated, organised, flexible and adaptable to change.
- Ability to embrace workforce developments and contribute to a team committed to safe, kind and compassionate care.
