We are looking for a qualified midwife to be at the forefront of our drive to keep improving the quality of care we offer, who shares our passion for woman centred, excellent care. A multidisciplinary approach to quality is at the heart of what we do, meaning the postholder can look forward to good support from all groups of colleagues within Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Neonatology, as well as drawing on the expertise from Trust colleagues in patient safety, risk, effectiveness, QI, simulation and compliance.

Training and coaching are available on the Patient Safety Incident and Response Framework (PSIRF), Human Factors, quality improvement methodologies and Making Data Count for ambitious candidates who want to develop in the role. The post holder will work with our clinicians, managers and service users to ensure there is a robust approach to monitoring and improving patient safety, clinical effectiveness, patient experience, and risk. Where compliance or outcomes are less than optimal, the team supports quality improvement initiatives to address areas of concern.

Also provide core oversight and management of CNST, Saving Babies Lives, Ockenden recommendations, Perinatal Quality Surveillance, Avoiding Term Admissions into Neonatology, NICE & RCOG guidelines, Antenatal and Newborn Screening standards and HSIB recommendations. The postholder will manage the team of governance and risk midwives and share responsibility with the lead consultant for governance for coordinating the unit's governance processes. They will work closely with the Director of Midwifery and Gynaecology Nursing, Deputy Director of Midwifery and Gynaecology Nursing and Matrons to address and evidence sustainable progress on regulatory standards.

St George's provides women health services for patients living in SW London, including delivering over 5,000 births a year. As well as serving the district general hospital needs of the local population, the specialty provides tertiary care for women and birthing people with complex care needs from the immediate area and further afield. Our aspiration is to provide outstanding care for every woman, birthing person and baby and we are proud of our positive clinical outcomes and feedback from patients using the service, including the most recent CQC patient survey.

This is an exciting time to join the St George's team - we are investing significantly in our workforce, we have launched our Digital transformation programme and are implementing the PSIRF approach to investigations, providing an opportunity to approach investigating and learning in a very different way. In addition, we are strengthening how we work with Group colleagues at Epsom and St Helier, exploring opportunities to work across the two Women's health governance teams to share learning, offer development opportunities for members of the governance team, provide peer support and spread good practice.
