Our service plays an important role in supporting patients from the inpatient rehabilitation wards, individuals under MSK Outpatient services, those continuing with falls‑prevention programmes, as well as hospital staff and the general public. This creates a varied, rewarding working environment where exercise support contributes to rehabilitation, wellbeing and community health.
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe and supervised exercise sessions.
- Support user inductions and monitor client progress.
- Assist with the progression of exercise programmes.
- Co‑ordinate the running of the Bader gym and supervise the 3 fitness instructors.
- Assess clients’ fitness needs and design suitable exercise programmes.
- Advise clients on the use of equipment and ensure safe practice.
- Run group exercise classes.
Qualifications
- Level 2/3 fitness industry qualification.
- Recognised gym instructor qualification with significant gym experience.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional manner.
- Patience and understanding of the needs of disabled users.
- Passion for inclusive exercise, functional fitness and supporting diverse user groups.
