Responsibilities
- Under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse, carry out nursing procedures following verification of competency and assist with the care and treatment of patients.
- This will include helping with the comfort and hygiene needs of patients: washing, oral care, escort to toilet, assisting with bed pans/commodes, making beds, and dealing with dirty linen according to procedures.
- Perform venepuncture, blood pressure recording, urine pregnancy testing, height and weight recordings with appropriate training.
- Make verbal reports to senior nursing staff and provide written documentation as needed.
- Ensure patients retain dignity and individuality.
- Participate in treatment and rehabilitation of patients as required.
- Escort visitors around the endoscopy, clinic/ward and to other departments.
- Report concerns about patients' condition to registered staff.
- Safeguard patients' property following procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Comply with all Trust policies relating to staff and patient safety.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Hold a valid Care Certificate or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 12 months remaining on a valid visa if required; no sponsorship available.
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly, busy, and dedicated team.
- Recent clinical experience in a relevant healthcare service environment; endoscopy experience is an advantage.
- Basic maths and English assessment will be scheduled.
