The predicted salary is between 46300 - 52800 Β£ per year.
This post combines both inpatient level 1 Specialist Neurorehabilitation and outpatient Specialist Rehabilitation services.
The post holder will ideally have skills in managing complex level 1 inpatients with ABI/SCI and peripheral neuropathy, as well as experience in complex spasticity management within a tertiary centre (Intrathecal Baclofen, focal spasticity management - botulinum toxin/diagnostic nerve block and phenol neurolysis).
The successful candidate will provide consultant supervision for the bed based neurorehabilitation unit at Queen Mary's Hospital, and support our portfolio of rehabilitation services.
The post holder will work closely with Dr Sancho Wong (Consultant in Neurorehabilitation), Dr Catherine Dalton (Consultant Neurologist and spasticity lead); Dr Christopher Symeon (Consultant in Neuropsychiatry), Dr Penelope Talelli (Consultant Neurologist), Dr Ana Miorelli (Consultant in Neuropsychiatry), Dr Lawrence Hayes (Consultant in Neurorehabilitation) and Dr Vijay Kolli (Consultant in Amputee Rehabilitation).
This is a fantastic opportunity for a new consultant to work closely with a progressive multidisciplinary team to improve the care of patients as well as improve the foundations for the delivery of a regional rehabilitation service in a dynamic and expanding tertiary neurosciences centre.
Our service has inpatient beds both at St George's Hospital Tooting, and Queen Mary's Hospital Roehampton.
This post will be primarily based at Queen Mary's Hospital Roehampton.
The service includes 50 inpatient beds (Neurorehabilitation, RAAR and Amputee Rehabilitation) on two sites, outpatient vocational rehabilitation following brain injury, a day case cognitive assessment programme and a comprehensive spasticity service.
The latter provides nine outpatient botulinumtoxin injection clinics a week, joint Surgical MDT Pathway, community spasticity outreach service and an Intrathecal Baclofen Pump service.
