We are currently looking for a rotational band 7 clinical psychologist to join the Regional Neurosciences Centre and Wolfson Neurorehabilitation Services and St Georges Hospital, which provide neurorehabilitation across the entire pathway from hyper-acute, acute, post-acute, and into the community. The post holder will be responsible for providing a neuropsychology service to adults with neurological conditions attending these services.

The post holder will offer advice and consultation on patients' psychological care to colleagues from other disciplines and to other non-professional carers, working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Provide highly specialist clinical neuropsychology input to patients attending inpatient neurorehabilitation services and outpatient neuropsychology services, including neuropsychological assessments and highly specialist psychological assessment and therapy.
  • Offer advice and consultation on clients' psychological care to health professionals and non-professional carers; exercise autonomous professional responsibility for clinical decisions within professional guidelines and team policies.
  • Utilise knowledge of evidence-based psychological interventions and research skills to develop neuropsychology and clinical psychology input to the services in liaison with the neurorehabilitation multidisciplinary team (MDT).
  • Identify and implement audit and research projects within the area served by the team/service.
  • Involve in training, continuing professional development and supervision of trainee clinical psychologists, assistant psychologists and other health professionals.
  • Rotate between the different services to gain skills in all aspects of applied neuropsychology and be prepared to work at all sites within St George's University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Qualifications and Experience

Ideally, experience of working with common mental health problems, neuropsychological assessment and neurorehabilitation. The post holder will be joining a team with ready access to specialist neuropsychology supervision (QICN approved) and good links with regional clinical psychology training courses. Continuing professional development, including completion of QICN, is actively encouraged.

We have established services for a wide range of long-term conditions, working with multi-disciplinary teams in physical health care settings and treating patients in their own homes. You will be joining a lively team of over 70 clinical, neuro, and health psychologists, and psychology assistants, with ready access to specialist neuropsychology supervision and strong links with regional clinical psychology training courses.
