An opportunity has arisen for a permanent Band 6 position, on a part‑time basis (0.4 WTE), within the St. George’s dietetic team, to support the specialist 8-bed Rapid Access Acute Rehabilitation (RAAR) facility within St George’s Hospital, where patients with an acquired neurological injury of any cause will receive a consultant‑led multidisciplinary intensive rehabilitation programme.
Responsibilities:
- Practice autonomously, providing high quality clinical practice in the area of Rapid Access Acute Rehabilitation.
- Be proactive in clinical decision making underpinned by an enhanced level of theoretical and practical knowledge.
- Use enhanced clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge of service users within the Rapid Access Acute Rehabilitation service.
The Rapid Access Acute Rehabilitation service has been running for 3 years and is key in reducing the waiting time to access Level 1 Neuro Rehabilitation. The multidisciplinary team consists of Consultant, clinical fellow, AHPs, psychologist and discharge coordinator. The successful applicant will be required to work collaboratively with the Rapid Access Acute Rehabilitation MDT.
The role requires strong nutrition support skills, especially in enteral feeding, whilst taking a holistic approach to patient management. We are looking for a self‑motivated individual who is pro‑active, dynamic, flexible, has a patient‑centred approach with excellent communication skills.
