Responsibilities include supporting the Trust's cancer & diagnostics testing, preparing samples for analysis, inputting patient data, maintaining laboratory equipment, and dealing with enquiries. Maintain laboratory equipment, aid laboratory staff in some aspects of technical work, enter patient data onto the pathology computer system, and assist medical staff with diagnostic tissue handling of operative specimens.
Qualifications required are good verbal and written communication skills, good literacy, biological science, numeracy, and communication skills; keyboard skills would be an advantage. The ability to work as part of a team and manage one's own workload is essential. Previous experience of medical terminology and data entry is also required.
