The Head of Operational Estates will be responsible for a portfolio of estate services across the Trust's estate. They will ensure that services are efficient and effective value for money in accordance with national guidelines. The post holder will ensure that the Trust provides a safe, secure and welcoming environment for patients and staff and that Estate services are in line with Government targets and initiatives, regulatory compliance and local targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead in the development of mechanical, electrical and building services and continually identify service developments, including the development of policies and environmental action plans.
- Interpret Government directives such as Premises Assurance Model, ERIC collection, HTM requirements, and Sustainability agenda, and draft policies and operational plans to ensure compliance.
- Ensure that the Estates Services are best value for money (VFM) through compiling service level agreements and market testing/benchmarking the services within contract time tables.
- Ensure that all infection control procedures are being followed in relation to project works, ventilation, and water systems in the organization.
- Ensure that all audit processes are being carried out in accordance with mandatory, statutory and local guidelines and reported to the Trust Board in accordance with the Trust governance framework.
- Highlight, manage and oversee all Health and Safety risks in accordance with the Trust Risk management policy.
- Develop an action plan for the backlog of maintenance and plant replacement and repair.
