The successful candidate for this post will have doctorate level training in clinical psychology and the Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology (QiCN) or equivalent is desirable. The post-holder will be required to conduct neuropsychological diagnostic assessments, cognitive and neurobehavioural rehabilitation, and work effectively as an interdisciplinary team member to design and deliver bespoke rehabilitation plans. With the supervision and guidance from a principal clinical neuropsychologist, the post-holder will be responsible for supervising a band 7 clinical psychologist and assistant psychologists to deliver neuropsychology input across the inpatient level 1 and level 2 rehabilitation programmes. Experience of delivering cognitive rehabilitation, working in inpatient neurorehabilitation settings and experience treating functional neurological conditions are desirable. The post will be based at the Wolfson Centre, Queen Mary’s Hospital, Roehampton, but the post-holder may be required to treat patients in their own homes or any relevant community setting, which could be anywhere in the greater London region.
Responsibilities
- Supervise a band 7 clinical psychologist and assistant psychologists to deliver neuropsychology input across the inpatient level 1 and level 2 rehabilitation programmes under supervision from a principal clinical neuropsychologist.
- Conduct neuropsychological diagnostic assessments, cognitive and neurobehavioural rehabilitation.
- Work effectively as an interdisciplinary team member to design and deliver bespoke rehabilitation plans.
- Deliver cognitive rehabilitation and contribute to inpatient neurorehabilitation services.
- Work across potential community settings in the greater London region as required.
Qualifications and requirements
- Doctorate level training in clinical psychology.
- The Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology (QiCN) or equivalent is desirable.
- Experience of delivering cognitive rehabilitation, working in inpatient neurorehabilitation settings and experience treating functional neurological conditions are desirable.
- Based at the Wolfson Centre, Queen Mary’s Hospital, Roehampton, with potential to treat patients in own homes or community settings.
- Member of the Department of Psychological Professions and access to guidance/consultation across neuropsychology services.
- Interest in research, continuing professional development and career progression; opportunities for rotational posts to gain breadth to obtain QiCN.
- Support for teaching and training across the department; opportunities to contribute to teaching nationally and internationally.
