This is an exciting opportunity to join Children’s Services at St George’s University Hospital.

The Assistant Service Manager for Projects will primarily support the Children’s Programme Lead, Project Manager and Service Manager for Projects to ensure the safe and effective transfer of the Children’s Cancer Principal Treatment Centre (PTC) in South London from the joint PTC run by the Royal Marsden and St George’s (SGUH) to the Evelina Children’s Hospital.

The post holder will also provide operational support the clinical and management teams in the day to day running of the Paediatrics Department, as well as provide comprehensive administrative support.

The post will support the Service Manager in the delivery of administrative and clerical support services and the development of quality information management systems, facilitating operational delivery and support project management., The post holder will support the scoping and delivery of associated projects and service delivery as SGUH looks to define and implement new service opportunities longer term following exit from PTC service delivery. They will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day delivery of key projects within the overarching programme of work.

The post holder will need to support the Service Manager, Project Manager and Programme Lead as appropriate. The successful candidate will have operational and project skills to support the delivery of the PTC transition. They will work in partnership with appropriate management and clinical staff, supporting the Leads in their work with the Clinical Divisions to facilitate the new model of care for the PTC.

The Assistant Service Manager will support/manage senior administrative staff and will work in partnership with the Matrons, Ward Managers, Care Group Leaders, medical staff and other staff within the Care Groups.
