Overview

Role

LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT (T1) – Based at our main site in Newport

1 x Full-Time, permanent post

Salary – Hay Grade 3 – £17,835 – £18,022 per annum (actual)

Hours per week – Full-time, 31.25 hours per week (Monday – Friday), term-time only (38 weeks)

Responsibilities

As a T1 LSA you will work with students at St George’s School and within the community, with complex medical and behavioural challenges, and work towards implementing specific programs that enable us as a School to respond positively to our students.

Working under the direction of, and in co-operation with the class teacher and senior LSAs, you will support the learning of the class through 1-2-1 and small group mentoring.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Experience of working with or caring for children in a group setting of relevant school age
  • L2 English and maths, or equivalent
  • The ability to demonstrate a high level of personal resilience
  • Some understanding of, and a willingness to hold safeguarding at the centre of their practice.
