About you
This role is the first level of the leadership ladder. It involves giving support and direction to the unit team and working closely with the deputy/manager. It entails overseeing the smooth running of the unit, and ensuring that high quality care is being practised at all times. The Unit (Room) Leader is a trained and qualified childcare professional, who specialises in leadership and management. If you are someone with a real passion for childcare who is looking to work within our professional organisation, then this job is for you. The role is to assist the Management team to provide professional leadership and management of the nursery and to help ensure that all children receive the highest standards of care and education.

Responsibilities
- Liaise with and support parents, carers and other family members
- Support all staff and promote a good staff team
- Lead a small team in your room to provide an exceptional level of childcare, supported by the nursery management team
- Maintain good practice in your room, ensuring that the EYFS is adhered to
- Keeping records of children’s progress, routines, and interests
Qualifications
- Level 3 or above (or equivalent)
- You must have a good understanding of the EYFS and be capable of maintaining children’s development records
- We are committed to safeguarding children and all posts are subject to an enhanced DBS check and references
- Childcare experience: 3 years+ (Required)
- Management experience: (Preferred but not essential)
