Hours: 30 hours per week, Monday to Sunday. Flexibility for evenings and weekends as required.

Location: Office-based at our Roundhay shop, with regular travel across St. George's Crypt locations and within the local community.

Applicant Requirement: Must hold a full UK driving licence for travel between St. George's Crypt sites and community events.

  • Recognise and challenge poor safeguarding practice.

The Retail Engagement Coordinator builds long‑term relationships within local communities to support growth of community engagement, increase awareness of the charity’s work, and generate income.

Working with the retail team, the postholder develops and delivers community‑led initiatives, promotes shop‑based income generation activities, and encourages donations, volunteering, and Gifts in Kind to maximise the charity’s presence and supporter engagement.

  • Community Engagement & Representation
  • Build strong relationships with community groups and schools.
  • Collaborate with the retail team to support in‑store income generation, awareness, campaigns, events and donation drives.
  • Represent St. George's Crypt and the retail team in the local community at events, presentations and supporter meetings.
  • Act as an ambassador and promote the mission and impact of the charity & retail across diverse audiences.
  • Retail Development & Delivery
  • Inspire and support individuals and groups undertaking community income generation activities.
  • Identify new opportunities for community and retail across Leeds.
  • Plan and deliver effective community and retail events and activities.
  • Support growth and awareness of the retail network and long‑term community engagement.
  • Deliver excellent supporter care, ensuring supporters and volunteers feel valued and engaged with the charity’s mission.
  • Recruit, motivate, and support volunteers involved in community giving.
  • Coordinate volunteer participation at events and ensure volunteers feel valued.

  • Promote appeals and campaigns through local networks.

  • Maintain accurate supporter records using the charity’s CRM system.
