We are recruiting to the post of Senior Sister/Charge Nurse within our In-Patient Unit. We are looking for someone who is able to support and lead a team of staff to provide high quality, evidence-based care. If you are a passionate and committed individual who prides themselves on creating an 'Outstanding' service, then St Gemma's welcomes your application to join our team.

We are looking for someone with:

  • The drive and energy to manage an in-patient ward within a specialist setting.
  • Excellent communication skills who will proactively model the St Gemma's values and behaviour framework.
  • Strong leadership skills and an outstanding track record for service improvement.
  • Enthusiasm to maintain a positive and innovative working environment.

As a Senior Sister/Charge Nurse you will be expected to:

  • Effectively manage the running of the ward including quality, safety and budgeting.
  • Lead on the management of the staff including attendance and performance management, appraisal, support/pastoral care and roster.
  • Provide and participate in Clinical Supervision.
  • Be an enthusiastic and supportive role model, implementing evidence based practice.
  • Work as part of the Hospice team maintaining our CQC Outstanding rating.

About us: St Gemma's Hospice is an independent Leeds-based charity and one of the leading hospices in the UK, providing expert care and support for local people with life-limiting and terminal illnesses. We offer care to patients, families and carers in the Hospice's In-Patient Unit, through the St Gemma's community team, and at our Out-Patients.

We have around 300 employees working across the main Hospice site in Moortown, Retail Hub in Bramley, a large chain of charity shops, and out in the community.
