St Gabriel’s is a small, welcoming Catholic primary school within the Diocese of Salford. Our school community is committed to nurturing each child spiritually, academically and personally, within a safe, caring and well‑maintained environment.
The Governors are seeking to appoint a reliable, committed and practical Caretaker to play a key role in maintaining the safety, security and appearance of our school building and grounds. Working closely with the Headteacher and School Business Manager, the Caretaker will help ensure that our premises provide a safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.
The appointed person will undertake duties concerned with the maintenance and care of the premises both internally and externally, so as to ensure a safe and satisfactory working, learning and recreational environment for all who use the premises and grounds, in accordance with Health and Safety and local Authority Regulations. This will include heating, lighting, cleaning, security, maintenance, porterage and other duties arising from the use of the premises and grounds.
The Caretaker will be the keyholder for the school and, as such under normal circumstances will be expected to be available for police/alarm companies and therefore should generally be available to cover call out situations.
In return we offer:
- A successful school with a strong Catholic ethos that values the uniqueness of each individual
- A dedicated team of experienced, hardworking staff committed to excellence
- Enthusiastic, friendly, happy and caring children who want to learn
- Strong support from governors and parents along with well‑established links with the Parish and wider community
