Your role: As our Category & Insights Manager, you'll build and develop St Ewe's category and insights capability, combining hands-on analysis with commercial thinking to identify where the category can grow and how St Ewe can help unlock it. You'll turn category, shopper and retailer data into clear insights and recommendations that shape our customer, commercial, brand and innovation decisions.

  • Own category reporting and analysis, pulling and interrogating market and retailer data to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Develop a clear category strategy and point of view, identifying where future growth will come from and helping St Ewe challenge and shape how the egg category evolves.
  • Turn insights into actionable recommendations across range, distribution, space, pricing, promotion and activation.
  • Build compelling category stories that strengthen St Ewe's influence with retail partners.
  • Bring the category and shopper voice into customer, commercial, brand and innovation planning.
  • Support NPD with insight, opportunity sizing and strong retailer-ready category rationale.
  • Work collaboratively across Sales, Marketing, Innovation and Operations to turn insight into action.

How will you go about your role?

  • Transparency: Uses category and shopper insight to identify opportunities that drive sales, margin and category growth, connecting insight to clear commercial outcomes.
  • Communication: Makes complex information simple, translating data and insight into clear, compelling recommendations that drive action.
  • Nurturing: Builds category and insight capability across the business, helping Commercial and Marketing teams use data and insight more effectively and confidently in decision-making.
  • Bold Leadership: Develops a clear point of view and confidently uses insight and evidence to influence customers and senior stakeholders.
  • Positive Customer Focus: Champions the customer and shopper perspective, ensuring their needs are represented in category recommendations and identifying opportunities that create mutual value for our retail partners and St Ewe.
  • Team Working: Works collaboratively across Sales, Marketing, Innovation and Operations, bringing teams together around shared opportunities and turning insight into action.

Skills required:

  • Strong analytical capability, bringing together category, customer, shopper and consumer insight to create clear commercial recommendations and compelling stories.
  • Strong hands-on capability with Circana, Kantar and/or equivalent retailer and market data platforms, including pulling, manipulating and analysing data independently.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint capability, with experience building effective category and customer reporting.
  • Strong understanding of category levers including range, distribution, space, pricing and promotion.
  • Confident communicator and storyteller, able to influence retail customers and senior internal stakeholders.
  • Commercially astute and naturally curious, able to move confidently between detailed analysis and the bigger picture.

Relevant experience:

  • 5+ years' experience in FMCG Category Management or Category Development, with a strong insights background.
  • Strong experience within UK grocery retail, including developing and presenting insight-led category recommendations to customers.
  • Proven experience using category and shopper insight to identify and unlock commercial growth opportunities.
