As a Night Security Officer, you will provide a safe, secure and welcoming environment for guests, visitors and team members throughout the hotel during the night. The Security Officer will be responsible for protecting hotel assets, monitoring security systems, conducting regular patrols and responding to incidents in a professional and courteous manner. This role requires flexibility to support the Night Team across hotel operations, including assisting with guest requests, emergency procedures and maintaining the highest standards of safety, security and guest service. The position includes regular weekend working and a flexible approach to shift patterns. Security Officer must have a SIA licence.
What will you be doing?
- Conduct regular patrols of all guest, public, back-of-house and external areas of the hotel.
- Monitor CCTV, fire alarm panels, access control systems and other security equipment.
- Ensure all entrances, exits and restricted areas remain secure at all times.
- Respond promptly and professionally to security incidents, disturbances, emergencies and guest concerns.
- Investigate and accurately document incidents, accidents, losses or suspicious activity.
- Control contractor, supplier and visitor access in accordance with hotel procedures.
- Support evacuation procedures and emergency responses in line with hotel policies.
- Work closely with the Night Manager and Night Team to ensure smooth overnight hotel operations.
- Assist with guest requests and enquiries during the night.
- Support reception and switchboard operations when required.
- Carry out fire, security and safety checks in accordance with hotel procedures.
- Act as an ambassador for St Ermin's Hotel, delivering a warm and professional welcome.
- Maintain excellent communication with all hotel departments.
- Take care of AED checks, alongside H&S regulation within the hotel.
You will have to be eligible to work in the UK to be considered for the role.
