Pastry Commis Chef you will ensure that the preparation and cooking of all food cooked on their section in accordance with agreed recipes and processes.
The Pastry Commis Chef will be supporting the kitchen team for the planning, cooking, and presentation of all required food items from the pastry kitchen.
What will you be doing?
- Have basic knowledge of all the following basic cooking techniques.
- Assist in preparing and cooking pastries, desserts, breads and other baked goods for consumption throughout the hotel, following recipes and processes in your section.
- Be familiar with all recipes that need to be prepared in your section.
- Follow instructions from senior chefs.
- Ensure proper portion control and plating standards.
- Keep your section clean and tidy, including fridges and worktops, with containers clean and covered.
- Ensure equipment and utensils are correctly handled and maintained, liaising with the Maintenance department as needed.
- Report any issues to kitchen porters for cleaning or sorting (spillages, empty bins, top up blue soap, remove boxes).
- Ensure all labels are clearly written with a date on each prepared item.
- Complete basic food hygiene training within one month of starting; training provided.
- Always adhere to the hotel's Health and Safety and Food Hygiene policies.
You must be eligible to work in the UK to be considered for the role.
