About the Role
- Working closely with Teachers and a multidisciplinary team, you will take responsibility for delivering agreed learning activities and support learners to achieve their individual goals.
- You will play a key role in creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment whilst helping to develop independence and self-confidence.
- Delivering and supporting learning activities for individuals, groups and whole classes.
- Supporting lesson planning, delivery and assessment.
- Monitoring, recording and reporting on learner progress.
- Supporting the development and implementation of individual learning, behaviour and personal care plans.
- Promoting positive behaviour and learner engagement.
- Working collaboratively with education, therapy, medical and care teams to ensure excellent outcomes.
- Mentoring and supporting colleagues as required.
- Supporting learners during community activities, educational visits and enrichment opportunities.
About you
- Has experience supporting learners with additional needs, including autism, epilepsy and learning disabilities.
- Is confident delivering learning activities and supporting classroom management.
- Has excellent communication, organisational and IT skills.
- Is committed to promoting dignity, independence and inclusion.
- Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Has a positive, proactive and compassionate approach.
- A Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification (or equivalent) and additional training such as Makaton would be advantageous.
