Midday Assistant
Location: Much Hadham, Hertfordshire
Hours: School: 11:00am - 2:00pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only - 39 weeks)
Salary: £8,512 annually (£12.71 per hour)

For some of our students, lunchtime is about more than eating. It's an opportunity to practise independence, develop social skills, enjoy time with friends, explore new activities and simply have fun.
As a Midday Assistant, you'll help make those moments possible.
This is more than a lunchtime supervision role
You'll be part of our specialist School in Much Hadham, supporting children and young people aged 5-16 with complex learning and additional needs.
You'll get to know our students as individuals and understand the support they need to have a positive and enjoyable lunchtime.
Working alongside teachers, care staff and other professionals, you'll help create a calm, safe and welcoming environment across the dining hall, classrooms and outdoor spaces.
No two lunchtimes will be quite the same. you could be helping a student with their meal, encouraging positive play, supporting communication and social interaction, or providing reassurance during a change in routine.
Sometimes it's the smallest moments that make the biggest difference.

About the Role
This is a great opportunity to join our education team and play an important part in making sure our students have a positive, safe and enjoyable experience during lunchtime.
You don't need previous experience in a school or care setting. What matters most is that you're caring, reliable and willing to learn. Full training and support will be provided
What you'll do:
- Supervise students during lunchtime in the dining hall, classrooms, and outdoor areas.
- Support with mealtime routines, including assisting students with eating where required.
- Promote good table manners, safe play, and respectful interactions.
- Encourage engagement in inclusive, age-appropriate play and leisure activities.
- Help manage behaviours calmly and appropriately, following student care plans.
- Assist with setting up and tidying dining areas before and after service.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for all pupils during break times.
