Salary: Senior Leadership Teachers Pay Scale + SEN Allowance (dependent on experience)

We are now looking for an Assistant Head of Sixth Form to join our leadership team and play a key role in shaping the future of our Sixth Form provision.

About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and passionate educator ready to step into (or further develop within) a senior leadership role. As an outstanding classroom practitioner, you will model excellence in teaching and learning, driving consistently strong outcomes across all curriculum pathways, driving high-quality, inclusive curriculum delivery and ensuring outstanding outcomes for learners. Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you will remain close to practice with a 50% teaching commitment, modelling excellence in the classroom.

Working closely with the Deputy Head of Sixth Form, you will:

  • Lead and develop a high-quality, ambitious, and inclusive curriculum.
  • Inspire, manage, and develop a team of teachers and Learning Support Assistants.
  • Drive continuous improvement through coaching, observation, and CPD.
  • Contribute to quality assurance, inspection readiness, and strategic planning.
  • Champion safeguarding and the wellbeing of all learners.
  • Work collaboratively with families, therapists, and multi-disciplinary teams.

About you

We are looking for someone who is:

  • An outstanding classroom practitioner with a passion for inclusive education.
  • Experienced in working with learners with SEND, including complex needs and PMLD.
  • A confident and supportive leader, able to motivate and develop others.
  • Skilled in curriculum design, assessment, and driving learner progress.
  • Knowledgeable in safeguarding, EHCP processes, and post-16 education frameworks.
  • A strong communicator, able to engage a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Values-led, with a genuine commitment to making a difference.
