An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the St Elizabeth Hospice Great Yarmouth and Waveney Consultant Palliative Care team as a 10‑month locum consultant. You will join a dynamic, friendly and established team of medical and nurse consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team. Your post will primarily provide input to James Paget University Hospital, with community and occasional inpatient unit cover at Beccles hospital. The position is set at a time when new services are being designed and implemented. St Elizabeth Hospice is rated CQC outstanding and serves a large geographical area, offering both urban and rural settings and places of outstanding natural beauty. Teaching opportunities abound.

Responsibilities

  • Provide input predominantly to James Paget University Hospital.
  • Deliver community and occasional inpatient unit cover at Beccles hospital.
  • Support the JPUH multidisciplinary Palliative Care Team as in‑reach.
  • Participate in the design and early build stages of a brand new hospice and an acute hospital undergoing a new build program.
  • Deliver eight sessions per week plus out‑of‑hours responsibilities as per NHS terms.
  • Maintain flexibility in job plan delivery and collaborate across acute, community and hospice inpatient settings.

Terms and Availability

Start date: June 2026. End date: March 2027. Employment by St Elizabeth Hospice, supported by NHS Terms and Conditions.
