An opportunity has arisen to join the St Elizabeth Hospice Great Yarmouth and Waveney Consultant Palliative Care team. You will join a dynamic, friendly and established team of medical and nurse consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team. Your post will provide input predominantly to the James Paget University Hospital but with some community and occasional inpatient unit cover at Beccles hospital. You will join at a very exciting time in the region as new services are designed and implemented. A new community hospice build for the area is at advanced stages of development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide input predominantly to James Paget University Hospital with some community and occasional inpatient unit cover at Beccles hospital.
  • Work as part of a dynamic medical and nurse consultant team and the wider multidisciplinary team across hospice, hospital and community settings.
  • Engage in the hospital sessions as in-reach to support the JPUH multidisciplinary Palliative Care Team.
  • Contribute to the design and early build stages of a brand new hospice in the locality.
  • Participate in research activities and the continual improvement of clinical care, aligned with the team’s commitments.
  • Work within flexible job planning (eight sessions available) and out-of-hours responsibilities.

The hospital settings are part of a broader regional development, with an established relationship between organisations and strong opportunities for teaching with local universities. The area offers a good work-life balance, accessible travel to London, and links to local acute and palliative care providers and medical schools (UEA and Cambridge).
