St Edward’s Oxford is seeking an experienced and compassionate School Nurse to join its Health Centre team from September 2026, with a particular focus on supporting pupils with asthma. Working as part of a supportive and professional team, you will provide high-quality nursing care, first aid and health advice to pupils, manage daily health concerns, administer medication and treatments, and help develop individual healthcare plans for pupils with ongoing health needs.

A key part of the role will be acting as a designated asthma nurse, supporting pupils with asthma through specialist clinics, asthma care plans, medication guidance, trigger awareness and staff education. This is a varied role at the heart of school life, involving close work with pupils, parents, house teams, the School Doctor and external healthcare professionals. You will also support the wider work of the Health Centre, including safeguarding, health promotion, sports injury support, immunisation programmes, school trips and offsite activities.

You will be a registered adult or children’s nurse with current NMC registration and at least two years’ post-registration experience. You will bring sound clinical judgement, excellent communication skills and a caring, sensitive approach to supporting young people. A qualification in asthma care and management, or a willingness to undertake training to gain this expertise, is essential.

This is a term‑time only role, working up to 34 weeks per year. Hours are annualised and average 28 hours per week, with shifts planned in advance on a termly rota. The role includes a mix of long days, early, late and night shifts, with some Saturday working required, particularly during the Autumn term.
