KS2 Prep School Teacher (Maternity Cover) Monday to Thursday 1st January 2027 to 31st August 2027 St Edmund's College Prep School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, talented and dedicated Prep School Teacher to join our friendly and supportive team for a period of maternity cover. As a Prep School Teacher, you will: Deliver engaging and inspiring lessons that challenge and motivate pupils. Plan and assess learning to ensure excellent progress for all children. Create a stimulating classroom environment that promotes curiosity, confidence and independence. Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners. Take responsibility for the academic progress, wellbeing and pastoral care of your class. Build strong relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues to support each child's development. Make effective use of assessment to inform teaching and raise standards. Promote high expectations of behaviour, achievement and personal responsibility. Embrace the College's High-Performance Learning (HPL) philosophy, encouraging pupils to develop the attitudes and attributes needed for lifelong success. Play a full and active part in the wider life of the Prep School. We are looking for a teacher who: Is an excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations of pupils. Has a passion for delivering an engaging and creative curriculum. Is committed to outstanding pastoral care and developing the whole child. Has excellent communication and organisational skills. Works collaboratively and contributes positively to school life. Shares our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The post will involve close contact with, and a high degree of responsibility for, children and young adults. The majority of this will be regulated activity and as such an enhanced DBS check (which includes children's barred list information) will be required in advance of appointment.
