Purpose of the role

As Faculty Leader for Calculation, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across the faculty, ensuring excellence in quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership. You will lead, inspire and develop colleagues, shaping a clear vision for the faculty and ensuring consistently high standards of teaching and learning. The role includes responsibility for curriculum design, staff development, performance monitoring, and securing strong outcomes for all pupils. You will play a key role in whole‑school improvement, working closely with senior leaders to drive forward teaching and learning priorities and ensuring the faculty contributes fully to the life of the school.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and operational leadership for the Calculation faculty.
  • Design and deliver curriculum across KS3 and KS4.
  • Develop staff through coaching, training and performance reviews.
  • Analyse performance data to implement improvement strategies.
  • Strengthen inclusion, ensuring all pupils access a rich and ambitious curriculum.
  • Lead cross‑disciplinary initiatives within the Faculty.
  • Represent the faculty in senior leadership meetings and school‑wide improvement projects.
  • Maintain Catholic ethos and values in all professional practice.

Qualifications and experience

  • Outstanding classroom practitioner with a record of improving student outcomes.
  • Proven leadership experience, capable of motivating, inspiring and developing others.
  • Deep understanding of curriculum development, assessment and raising achievement across KS3 and KS4.
  • Ability to analyse performance data and implement successful improvement strategies.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with staff, pupils, parents and stakeholders.
