The Governors of The Federation of St Cuthbert’s and St Mary’s RC Primary Schools would like to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated School Catering Manager who can inspire and lead the catering team. The successful candidate will play a key role within the whole school team, supporting colleagues and contributing to the vision and ethos of the School.

This position is full time, term time only plus one week. 38 school weeks plus 1 full week for deep cleaning and training (39 weeks): Monday – Friday, 7am – 3pm inclusive of 30 minutes unpaid lunch, 37.5 hours per week. The post will be a permanent position, starting on 1st September 2026, subject to a clear DBS Check, two positive references and completing a six-month probationary period.

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Proven experience and skills in mass catering provision
  • A passion for food and customer service
  • The skills to plan and produce termly menus taking into account legislative requirements and the needs of the children and staff at school.
  • The ability to produce meals within a set budget
  • Excellent people skills and a large dose of tact and diplomacy
  • The ability to work under pressure whilst retaining a sense of humour
  • An NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation & Cooking or equivalent
  • A Food Hygiene Certificate
