St Cuthbert's RC High School are seeking to appoint an exceptional Curriculum Leader – Science. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Trust at the beginning of a journey of transition, development, and growth within the multi‑academy trust. This key leadership role offers the opportunity to shape and drive excellence in Science, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning and student achievement across key stages 3 and 4.

Responsibilities and Competencies

  • Provide strong and effective leadership of the Science department, driving forward standards of teaching and learning.
  • Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of the Science curriculum, ensuring it is ambitious, inclusive and aligned with whole-school priorities.
  • Monitor pupil progress, develop staff, and contribute strategically to school improvement.
  • Model excellent teaching and inspire both pupils and colleagues.
  • Possess a track record of securing excellent outcomes as an outstanding science teacher.
  • Inspire, motivate and lead a team to achieve high standards.
  • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4 and a passion for subject education.
  • Have experience, or clear potential, in leadership, coaching and developing colleagues.
  • Use data effectively to monitor performance, raise attainment and close gaps.
  • Be committed to innovation and continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills; work effectively as part of a team.
  • Fully support the Catholic ethos and values of the school.
  • Support the safeguarding commitment of St Cuthbert's Roman Catholic High School and share this commitment.
  • Be subject to a satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
