Hours: 37 hours per week, flexible over a 7-day rota.
The role involves providing bespoke rehabilitative care for young adults with acquired brain injuries and learning disabilities at our Alan Shearer Residential Service.
Responsibilities
- Work to your own initiative and as part of a team.
- Take responsibility for ordering and auditing all medication.
- Lead, organise and supervise the staff team in their daily duties.
- Support the manager in completing and reviewing care plans, risk assessments, daily recording and the quality of the service.
- Be proactive in supporting colleagues when dealing with difficult situations, ensuring any challenging behaviour is dealt with by effective use of MAPA.
- Support residents to achieve a healthy lifestyle by promoting positive choices using a person-centred approach.
Qualifications
- Experience supporting adults with acquired brain injuries and disabilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively to work together with residents, their families and professionals to achieve best outcomes.
- A strong values-base of putting people first and an instinct to safeguard and to work at all times with utmost dignity and respect.
- A Diploma level 3 in Health and Social Care or an equivalent qualification.
