St Columba's Hospice

St Columba’s Hospice Care is a warm and compassionate organisation dedicated to delivering critical palliative and end-of-life care. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed IT Support Officer to join our small, friendly Digital team. In this role, you will work closely with our Senior IT Support Officer to ensure our technology—from telephony and Microsoft 365 to clinical systems—runs smoothly. Your work will directly support our staff, allowing them to focus on providing high-quality, person-centered care.

The Role

  • Technical Troubleshooting: Resolving hardware, software, and telephony issues to maintain service continuity.
  • User Management: Handling account and equipment setup for new starters and leavers.
  • Project Support: Assisting with office moves, system upgrades, and the rollout of new digital infrastructure across the Hospice.

Why join us?

  • Make a difference: Your technical skills will contribute to an environment that provides vital support to patients and families.
  • Growth and development: We are committed to your professional journey, offering training opportunities to develop your technical knowledge.
  • Collaborative culture: You’ll be part of a supportive team within an organisation that truly lives its values.
  • Innovation: You will play a key part in delivering our Digital Strategy, helping us improve how we work through modern technology and data insights.

What you’ll bring

  • Person-centered: You enjoy helping others and can communicate technical information clearly to staff with varying levels of digital confidence.
  • Technically minded: You have a solid understanding of IT hardware, AV systems, and software support.
  • Methodical and proactive: You can manage a busy workload, prioritise tasks, and use your initiative to resolve issues.
  • A team player: You are flexible, reliable, and keen to contribute to a multidisciplinary environment.

While based at our main hospice building, there may be a requirement to visit our other sites so holding a clean UK driving licence would be advantageous. If you are a motivated individual with a background in IT support and a desire to work in a meaningful, healthcare-focused setting, we would love to hear from you.

This post requires the post holder to have a criminal record check. An application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before the successful candidate can begin in post. The Hospice will pay/reimburse the cost of this check.
