Our charity shop in Haddington is looking for a donations processor who can help us to sort, steam and price donations of quality clothing. This is an interesting and important role, as we can't stock the shop without donations being ready to go on the shop floor. By volunteering as a donations processor you would be helping our Haddington store to raise vital funds for care in the local community and in the Hospice.
Hospice staff and volunteers are expected to reflect our Hospice Values in the way they carry out their roles, and in their interactions with each other, the general public, patients and family members. Our Values are: Care and Compassion, Respect, Trust and Partnership.
You will be sorting clothing donations that come into the shop; deciding what to keep and what to recycle. You will be pricing and steaming goods that are chosen for sale in the shop.
Please note that this is a non-customer facing role.
- Knowledge of clothing brands

- Physically fit as the storeroom is downstairs and you will need to stand to steam the clothing.

Time commitment and duration
One afternoon / morning each week/ fortnightly. The role will be reviewed on a yearly basis.

Additional information
- Hospice Chaplains are always available to support volunteers
- Volunteers may claim reasonable travelling expenses for transport to and from the Hospice, or the place you volunteer, e.g. one of our retail shops. Please speak to your manager about this.
- The Hospice provides complimentary tea and coffee to all volunteers, staff, patients and families as part of the hospitality strategy.
