About the Role
St Columba's Catholic Primary School is seeking to appoint an inspirational and committed Deputy Headteacher to join our senior leadership team. Working closely with the Headteacher, you will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the school, driving school improvement and ensuring the highest standards of teaching, learning and pupil wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- School Culture and Behaviour
- Help create a positive, inclusive and enriching school culture
- Uphold high standards of behaviour through consistent and fair approaches
- Promote staff professionalism and positive relationships across the school community
- Teaching, Curriculum and Assessment
- Secure high-quality teaching and learning across all subjects and phases
- Ensure delivery of a broad, structured and coherent curriculum
- Promote evidence-informed approaches to assessment and reading
- Develop strong curriculum and subject leadership
- SEND and Inclusion
- Promote inclusive practice so all pupils can access the curriculum
- Hold ambitious expectations for pupils with SEND
- Ensure statutory duties under the SEND Code of Practice are met
- Work effectively with parents, carers and external professionals
- Leadership, Management and School Improvement
- Contribute to the strategic vision and ethos of the school
- Support effective systems, policies and processes
- Ensure safeguarding, welfare and risk management are robust
- Manage staff workload and allocate resources effectively
- Identify barriers to school effectiveness and lead improvement strategies
