We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join our friendly and supportive primary school team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs. You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to support pupils across the school, providing both one-to-one and small group support to help them achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally. There are two positions available: 31.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday term time only (38 weeks) and 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday term time only (38 weeks).
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils with a range of special educational needs (e.g., ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH)
- Assist in delivering tailored learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher
- Provide one-to-one support to pupils where required
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
- Encourage independence, confidence, and social development
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCo, and external professionals
- Monitor and record pupil progress
The Ideal Candidate Will
- Have experience working with children with SEND (preferred but not essential)
- Be patient, nurturing, and adaptable
- Have strong communication and teamwork skills
- Demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and wellbeing
- Be able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
