Do you have a passion for leading on multi-trade work, maintenance and compliance, and Health & Safety matters across a successful multi-site operation? If this sounds like you, come and join the trading team at St Christophers where you will be working across over 22 high street retail locations to take the lead on maintenance and trades work.
You will be taking the lead on a variety of maintenance requirements across a large portfolio of retail locations. You’ll act quickly on reactive works personally where possible, report on further works required, or liaise with contractors to resolve the issues. You’ll project manage on maintenance related projects intended to improve the retail offering, including brand new store openings, or adjustments and upgrades to existing locations.
You’ll have an excellent understanding of compliance matters around Health & Safety and building work and will actively work to meet standards in all areas. You’ll take responsibility for administrative work in maintaining checks and records and will ensure legal compliance across H&S and other matters at all times. You’ll report into the Estates and Compliance Manager and complete ad hoc work as requested, including work on a H&S Committee, contributing to maintenance budget understanding, and other commercial considerations. The role is 50% day to day maintenance matters, 35% working towards compliance and checks, and 15% on project management activity.
Who are we Looking For?
- You’ll be qualified in maintenance, multi-trade work, plumbing, or as an electrician.
- You’ll have excellent multi-trade experience and be skilled on the tools to address a broad variety of maintenance needs.
- You’ll have good experience attending to maintenance and repair work across a portfolio of multiple properties.
- You’ll have good awareness of required checks and compliance matters, including risk assessments, EICR, legionellas, asbestos, PAT testing, and more.
- You’ll have an excellent understanding of H&S needs and experience in producing and undertaking audits.
- You’ll have project management experience, up to the scale of opening a new retail location from shell.
- You’ll be a people person happy to work alongside store teams and contractors in a customer facing environment.
- You’ll have strong IT skills and administrative ability in order to document routine works, checks, and compliance matters, as well as improving documentation and policy around maintenance and H&S concerns.
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel across South East London is essential.
