St Christophers Hospice was founded in 1967 by Dame Cicely Saunders and formed part of the modern hospice movement. Proudly celebrating over 50 years and with a turnover of over £20 million, we provide invaluable care and support to over 7,500 people across the five London Boroughs of Bromley, Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark.
We are looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Fabric Technician to join our team. Although predominantly based at Sydenham, the Maintenance Team carry out planned and reactive maintenance across all of our sites which include over 20 shops.
You will be responsible for carrying out general day-to-day maintenance tasks along with undertaking first level fault finding and repairs on a range of equipment and services within the Hospice. This will include building and property assets and some equipment and medical services.
The successful candidate will be an integral part of our Maintenance team, demonstrate attention to detail, be able to work individually as well as part of a team, have excellent communication skills and be highly motivated.
It is essential for the post holders to be flexible to meet the demands of the department and to cover additional hours, annual leave and sickness. The successful candidate will be required to participate in the call rota to provide cover for evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
Previous Maintenance experience is essential, experience of working within an industrial/commercial environment would also be desirable i.e. Hospital/Nursing home, however, full training will be given to the right candidate.
