We are seeking to appoint an inspiring and outstanding Director of Music to lead, shape and champion music at our flourishing, high achieving independent girls’ prep school in North London. This is a rare opportunity for a gifted musician, teacher, conductor and leader to build on an already strong musical culture and to make a profound and lasting impact on girls’ musical lives.

The Role

  • Lead by personal example as an excellent musician and performer
  • Inspire pupils through vibrant, ambitious and joyful music making
  • Champion girls’ music making in both singing and instrumental performance, ensuring every pupil finds her musical voice
  • Direct choirs, ensembles and performances with authority and warmth
  • Provide musical leadership for school productions, concerts and events
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, visiting music teachers and peripatetic staff
  • Build strong, positive relationships with parents and communicate confidently with families
  • Contribute energetically to the wider life of the School and its community

  • Is an accomplished, all-round musician with excellent musicianship and performance skills (ideally a relatively accomplished pianist)
