Our Psychological and Spiritual Care Team provides space for compassionate, reflective, and transformative care, in support of people navigating serious illness, dying, death, and bereavement. It is made up of art, music, talking therapists and chaplains. Our work integrates therapeutic psychological, pastoral, and multi‑faith spiritual approaches, contributing to holistic, multi‑disciplinary care and the understanding of ‘total pain’.

This is a senior role that combines specialist clinical / spiritual practice and operational leadership / service development. You will work closely with the Psychological and Spiritual Care Lead to shape an inclusive, forward‑looking service that meets the psychological and spiritual needs of a diverse, multicultural population.

  • A chance to offer clinical expertise at the intersection of psychology, spirituality, and compassionate care
  • Meaningful leadership in a service that values reflection, humanity, and presence

  • A collaborative environment within a multidisciplinary team
  • Engagement in education, research, and service innovation

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide clinical expertise and consultancy – psychotherapy or psychologically informed spiritual/pastoral care to support individuals facing serious illness, end of life, and bereavement
  • Address complex psychological/spiritual needs including:
    • Existential distress, loss of meaning and grief
    • Complex psychological presentations, including trauma
    • Faith‑related concerns and spiritual suffering
  • Deliver person‑centred care tailored to diverse beliefs, cultures, and values
  • Support the leadership, supervision, and development of the team
  • Champion equity, diversity and inclusion; improving access for underrepresented communities and develop multi‑faith rituals

Who We’re Looking For:

  • A qualified Psychotherapist (e.g. HCPC, UKCP, BACP registered)
  • A Chaplain/faith leader with training in psychological practice
