We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for aDeputyManagerto join our team at Saint Cecilia’s Nursing Home in Scarborough.

The Deputy Manager (Non-Clinical) plays a key leadership role in supporting the Registered Manager and wider management team in the day-to-day operations of Saint Cecilia’s Nursing Home. This role focuses on staff coordination, quality assurance, and operational oversight to ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care.

The Deputy Manager will not undertake clinical duties but will actively contribute to leadership, compliance, and staff development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the RegisteredManagerin the day‑to‑day running of the home
  • Leading, supervising, and supporting care staff to deliver high standards of care
  • Ensuring care is person‑centred, safe, and compliant with regulatory requirements
  • Supporting care planning, risk assessments, and accurate record‑keeping
  • Acting as a role model for best practice and professional standards
  • Supporting staff induction, training, and development
  • Assisting with audits, quality assurance, and maintaining a positive CQC culture
  • Providing hands‑on care when needed and responding to residents’ needs promptly
  • Deputising for the RegisteredManageras required

About You

  • Experience working in a care home or similar setting, ideally in a senior or leadership role
  • A caring and professional approach with strong people skills
  • Confident supporting staff and managing day‑to‑day challenges
  • Good understanding of person‑centred care for older adults
  • Ability to lead by example and promote best practice
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care and willingness to work towards Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care and/or Level 5 Leader in Adult Care
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
