This is an exciting opportunity to join St Catherines Hospice as a Senior Occupational Therapist, working within a supportive, multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing outstanding, person centred care to patients and those important to them. Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist who is passionate about end of life care? Would you find it rewarding to deliver specialist OT interventions across hospice services, including the Inpatient Unit, community settings and the Wellbeing Centre?
Main duties of the job:
- We are seeking a confident, skilled Occupational Therapist to lead our team and to support patients to maintain comfort, function and quality of life.
- This post is offered on a permanent basis, working full time or part time hours starting from 27 hours per week up to 37.5 hours per week.
- Please note, the successful candidate will be an essential car user, therefore candidates must have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Job responsibilities:
- Senior Occupational Therapist will bring:
- Advanced clinical knowledge of palliative and end of life care
- Confident and effective communication and leadership skills
- Ability to support and motivate your team in a positive and professional working environment
- Assessing patient needs, planning and delivering responsive holistic patient centred care
Person Specification:
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years post registration experience
- Experience of working with palliative care, oncology, neurology, community or care of the elderly patients.
- Sound knowledge and application of Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions
- Ability to plan, implement and evaluate care
- Specialist palliative care experience
- Formal presentation and teaching skills
- Team leadership experience
Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy
- State Registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Evidence of recent post registration education
- Member of Royal College of Occupational Therapy (RCOT)
- Current driving licence and use of a car
