Job responsibilities:
- All our Housekeeping Assistants play a fundamental role in the delivery of outstanding care by ensuring the Hospice is safe and clean, and making our environment feel comfortable for our patients and their loved ones.
- You will be responsible for cleaning patient rooms and supporting with our in-house laundry service.
- You will also conduct routine cleaning of public areas and office space, in addition to regular planned deep cleaning and dealing with emergencies, such as spills.
Person Specification:
Experience:
- Knowledge & experience of working to H&SAW, COSHH standards.
- Strong people skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Good motivational skills with the ability to engage and empathise.
- The ability to write and produce clear and effective correspondence.
- Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and as part of a team.
- High standard of personal presentation of work.
- Ability to operate in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Attention to detail and a strong motivation to maintain high standards.
- Basic PC Skills.
- Previous experience of working within a Housekeeping environment.
- Familiarity with on-line training modules.
- Experience of maintaining daily records of tasks & safety data.
- Confidence to engage with patients, hospice visitors & the general public.

- Flexible attitude to working hours especially with regard to covering absence and holidays, including bank holidays and weekends.

Qualifications:
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, good basic English & Maths.
- NVQs or equivalent.
